3D Casting Workshop (Offline)

Spend a truly unique weekend at Dream Gifts Studio with artists; Poonam & Kamal, and discover the true meaning of ‘hands on’. During this creative and fun two days workshop, you’ll learn all the tricks of the trade needed to start your own 3D casting business.

You’ll learn the various techniques of mould making & life casting, nature of moulding & casting materials, instruments & tools used in the process. You’ll study the attributes of mould, how to pour a good cast, opening the moulds without damaging the casts, dealing with imperfections and how to detail the final cast. During the workshop you’ll make a beautiful life cast, taking home a few new friends and one masterpiece to admire for years.

Schedule of the workshop:

Day 1 (Saturday: 12 pm to 4 pm)

You will learn the types of raw materials & tools used in 3D Casting.
Moulding & Casting: You will learn how to prepare the mould, the proportion of different materials, mixing them and accurately pouring them for best moulding results. You will cast your hand in the solution.

Day 2 (Sunday: 12 pm to 4 pm)

De-moulding & Sculpting: We will focus on de-moulding, finishing techniques, dents and other surface treatments. Participants will open their cured castings for inspection and we will train you the details of sculpting to clean up any problem areas and patch any bubbles using the tools supplied.
Painting & Framing: You will also learn how to paint a cast to get that lustrous look of the cast. Also, you will get tips on framing the casts with different layouts & presentations.
We will also share tips on successfully marketing your own casting business.

At the completion of the workshop, you will have a completed hand casting with a professional look and take home a truly unique masterpiece to capture just about anyone’s attention.

This two-day workshop teaches you ‘How to create beautiful highly-detailed life castings.’ The workshop caters to all levels of artistic experience, from beginners wanting to try their hand at something new and have a bit of fun, to proficient artists.
